The St. Photios Greek Orthodox National Shrine is proud to announce the “Third Annual Metropolitan Iakovos Greek Language Memorial Scholarship Essay Contest.” This unique essay contest is in addition to the annual English language essay contest which has recently concluded.

 

The participants in this year’s annual Metropolitan Iakovos Greek Language Memorial Scholarship Essay Contest are asked to: "Compare and contrast the immigrant story of Ioannis Ioannopolis (Juan Genopoly), one of the Greek Colonists of 1768, with the immigrant story of a family member or a personal friend.

The winners will be selected by the committee; the winners will share the monetary prize of $1,000.

▪ All essays become the property of the St. Photios National Shrine and may be used for
various publicity purposes, always with the byline of the author.
