The Metropolis of Denver Youth Worker Team is headed by the Director of Youth and Young Adult Ministries and is comprised of selected youth workers from across the Metropolis. The team’s purpose is to execute the mission of the Metropolis Office of Youth and Young Adult Ministries.  It achieves this objective by enhancing, creating, and implementing youth and young adult ministry programs for the Metropolis. Members of the Youth Worker Team will also serve as liaisons between their own parishes and the Metropolis Youth Office concerning the needs of their parishes.


Members are appointed by Metropolitan Isaiah by the recommendation of the Metropolis Director of Youth and Young Adult Ministries.

Demetrios Buck was born and raised in the great state of Michigan, and grew up at the parish of Holy Trinity in Grand Rapids. Ever involved in all aspects of the church, that is where he fell in love with the faith and youth work. He spent multiple summers on staff at Ionian Village and the Metropolis of Detroit Summer Camp in Rose City, Michigan. He has also served throughout the Archdiocese to help run retreats and camps.  After graduating from Michigan State University with a degree in History and Political Science, he made his way down to Dallas, where he currently serves the parish of Holy Trinity as their Youth Director.

  Mikaila Demetroulis is the Youth Director and Ministry Assistant at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church in Kansas City, Missouri. She has been involved at the Metropolis level with Camp Emmanuel for several years and currently serves as a Program Staffer, coordinating the afternoon and evening activities for our summer youth camp. In addition to her youth work, Mikaila is currently pursuing her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing and has previously earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Spanish Language, Literature, and Culture at The University of Kansas (Rock Chalk!).

Alex is a life-long Colorado resident, who grew up attending Assumption Cathedral in Denver.  By high school his family began attending St. Catherine in Greenwood Village, and he is now pleased to serve that parish as Youth Director.  Alex received a BFA in Acting from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 2012, and was employed for a brief time with the Colorado Shakespeare Festival.  He began working with youth in their "CSF in the Schools" Anti-Bullying and Violence Prevention Program before answering the call to minister at his parish in 2015.

  Born in Columbus, Ohio, Emily graduated from Hope College in Holland, Michigan, with a studio art degree. She had been working with various Protestant youth ministries since high school until becoming Orthodox in 2009.  After finishing a year-long program at the Dale House Project, working with semi-paroled troubled youth, Emily was asked to be the Youth Director in Loveland. For the past seven years she has been thoroughly enjoying working with the “kids” of St. Spyridon ages 0 to 35.


Kate Stevenson

Kate Stevenson was born and raised in the parish of Holy Trinity in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She graduated from the University of Tulsa with her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology in 2013. After teaching at a private preschool for a few years, she accepted the position as Youth Director at St. Basil the Great in Houston, Texas. Kate has been involved with youth and young adult ministries at her home parish and in the metropolis for most of her life.
